16 countries, 100 students and a cultural fest

Hundred students of 16 nationalities came together on a common cultural platform to mark International Students’ Day on Wednesday, reports Joyeeta Ghosh.

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) organised a cultural festival for international students, which is held every year on the birth anniversary of the founder president of ICCR, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

The programme was inaugurated by Karan Singh, president of ICCR.

The performances included different traditional music and dances signifying diverse occasions.

Virandra Gupta, director-general of ICCR said, “We strive to give young students such platforms to sensitise about other cultures and to help them exchange views and ideas.”
