Giani Surinder Singh, a key eyewitness of 1984 riots, has alleged he was "harassed" by the immigration department at Indira Gandhi International Airport during his recent visit to New Delhi.

Singh, who reached the national capital from USA on February 24 to record his statement in a CBI court there in connection with the riots case, alleged that the sleuths of immigration department "harassed" him for five hours and impounded his passport "unnecessarily".
Singh was the 'Head Granthi' at Gurdwara Pulbangash in Delhi during the riots and is a key witness of one of its case, in which three Sikhs were killed by a mob on the alleged instigation by Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.
He said that the CBI had already recorded his statement in New York on December 2008 and wanted to record it again before its court in Delhi on February 28 this year. His statement now would be recorded on March 24.
