While Delhi and Haryana have widened and improved national highways connecting Delhi with Sonepat (NH1), Faridabad (NH2) and Gurgaon (NH8) to facilitate non-stop and fast moving traffic between these cities, some of the roads connecting the two states still witness long traffic snarls, especially at night.
Haryana government officials said the Rohtak MP and son of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Hooda was woried about three roads -- NH10 between Peeragarhi and Tikri Border, the road connecting Najafgarh and Dhansa Border and another road connecting Badarpur bypass with Nangloi.
"Since the volume of traffic along the NH10 is every high, we have requested the Delhi government to construct an elevated road to segregate inter-state traffic and local traffic on this stretch. We have also requested Delhi government to find a long-term solution to traffic problems on the other two roads. The Haryana government is also improving these roads on its side of the border," a senior Haryana government official said.
Delhi PWD minister Rajkumar Chauhan said the department had already hired a consultant to suggest measures to improve the road and traffic movement on the road connecting Najafgarh and Dhansa border.
