BSNL to set up emergency comm system in Leh in 2-3 days

State-run telecom giant BSNL today assured that it would set up an emergency communication system in Leh in the next 2-3 days after flash floods knocked off the existing infrastructure.

State-run telecom giant BSNL today assured that it would set up an emergency communication system in Leh in the next 2-3 days after flash floods knocked off the existing infrastructure.

"BSNL has deputed their senior most and seasoned employees to the city (Leh) to set up an emergency communication system within next 2-3 days," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Gopal Das said here in a statement.

Conveying condolences to the families who lost their dear ones in the Leh flash flood, which claimed 85 lives and
injured more than 350 on Thursday night, Das said, "We have sent our team with best of our officials to the city to
restore services on priority basis."

"All possible resources are being mobilised to restore normalcy in telecom services as soon as it is humanly
possible," he said.
