Centre should curb price rise: PMK
PMK, a constituent of the ruling UPA, demanded that the Centre should do everything to curb rising prices.
PMK, a constituent of the ruling UPA, on Monday demanded that the Centre should do everything to curb rising prices, saying that failure on the price front has eroded the benefits given by the coalition to the people.

"PMK feels that there is a need for a sense of urgency and emergency on the part of the government. It should do everything even at the cost of high economic growth to arrest the rising prices," PMK founder S Ramadoss said listing out a 14-point programme to curb inflation.
Ramadoss, a known critic of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and the ruling DMK, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and told him "we should not be dogmatic in initiating measures which are controversial".
While he did not elaborate on what he meant by his statement, it has come at a time when the DMK is again pressing for an early completion of the Ram Setu project.
Noting that the UPA government had implemented as many as 123 promises out of 153 commitments, he said, "there are certain grave issues, which affect the common man on which the government should take immediate action".
"I need not remind you that the UPA would be facing the electorate shortly and we should take only those measures, which conspicuously and considerably benefit the common man," the PMK leader said in his memorandum to Singh.
