Cong steers clear of CBI's complaint on Kalmadi

Congress today steered clear of CBI's complaint to the government that the continuance of Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi was proving to be a stumbling block in its probe into allegations of corruption in CWG.

Congress on Wednesday steered clear of CBI's complaint to the government that the continuance of Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi was proving to be a stumbling block in its probe into allegations of corruption in CWG.

"We do not comment on individuals," was the brief response of AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

The leader without going into specifics of this issue simply recalled Congress President Sonia Gandhi's stern message against corruption that she sent in the CPP meeting.

At the CPP meeting in monsoon session, Gandhi had said that while all efforts should be made for successful conduct of the Games, the guilty, if any, should be punished after the event is over.
