A day after a nude and highly decomposed body of a middle-aged woman was found on the campus of Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi police have started scanning details of missing women from nearby areas.
Since the body was found near the nursing hostel, police have asked hospital authorities to check whether any woman is missing from the hostel.
"We have asked them to check their records to see whether anyone has been reported missing. Nearby police stations have also been asked to check their records.
We are also checking patients' list of the hospital in the past four days," a senior police officer said.
Police are also questioning the guards to know how the body went unnoticed for three days. The unidentified woman's body was found behind the burns ward of the hospital by a hospital guard. The body is currently being preserved in the mortuary and the post-mortem examination will be conducted on Saturday.
