The father of the five-year-old gang-rape victim has identified one of the two police officers who allegedly offered him Rs. 2,000 to keep the incident under wraps.

The girl’s father identified the policeman after a team of the Delhi Police’s vigilance department showed him photographs of the Gandhi Nagar police station staff on Tuesday evening.
The team met the daily-wager at AIIMS, where his daughter is being treated for the injuries she suffered during the brutal assault.
Two policemen allegedly gave the “hush money” to the family on April 17, when the girl, who was missing for two days, was found locked in a room right below her Gandhi Nagar home. Two men including a neighbour, have been arrested for the rape.
While the girl’s family said the policeman was the station house officer of the Gandhi Nagar, senior officers refused to divulge the identity, saying the matter was under investigation.
“It is the SHO who offered us money…my brother could identify him because he was the one ordering everyone around,” the girl’s uncle told HT, adding the money was still with them.
