Delhi: Guard molests 8-yr-old girl in Haldiram’s loo

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a security guard in the washroom of fast-food chain Haldiram’s in Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday.

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a security guard in the washroom of fast-food chain Haldiram’s in Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday.

“The incident took place while the girl was having dinner with her family. The family suspected something wrong and went looking for her. Soon, they saw her rushing out of the washroom crying,” said a police officer.

The girl narrated the incident to her family members who apprehended the accused and handed him over to the police. “We have registered a case of molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman. Cases were also registered under sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act,” said a senior official.

When contacted by HT, the local manager of the Haldiram’s outlet refused to comment on the case. There was also no response to calls and text messages sent to the CEO, managing director and spokespersons of Haldiram’s.
