A resident of Munirka, her family is facing long and frequent outages at odd hours. The cut of one to two hours happen in the afternoon as well as at night.

Things have become so worse that the inverter battery dies out pretty quickly because it doesn’t get charged properly, leaving the family sweating it out in this searing heat.

“Power tariffs have been increasing every year but power distribution companies have not improved the infrastructure. If they can’t provide us with uninterrupted power supply, they should not be allowed to hike charges. The government needs to step in and improve the current situation,” said Saxena.

She also believes that power outages were a failure on the part of the Delhi government.

“After a long day at work, we want to sit back and relax but these power cuts are making our lives miserable. Our entire colony has been suffering for the past so many days,” she added.
