two days ago, forcing a senior official to request people on Wednesday to not judge the entire force based on one “unfortunate” incident.

Constable Harish Kumar was manning traffic near south Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan flyover when a motorcyclist zoomed past him. Within seconds he was hit by a stone on his back and when he turned around to see who had hit him, the motorcyclist hurled abuses at him and escaped.

“For a moment I did not realise why he threw the stone at me but then I knew I was bearing the brunt of what had happened to the woman two days back. It is unfair to paint the department in a bad light for one man’s action,” said Kumar, who has served Delhi Police for the past 20 years.

This even forced special commissioner of police (traffic) Muktesh Chander to ask people to not treat every policeman on the road as if he will throw a brick at them.
