Factory targeted: cash, wedding cards looted

“When I reached my factory around 8 a.m., I saw someone had broken the two locks on the main gate, the lock to my office safe and taken everything,”said Chand, who is a wedding cards wholesaler and owns a factory in Gali No. 4, Subhash Park in North East Delhi, police said.

According to an eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, the incident allegedly occurred around 4 a.m. on Friday morning.

“I heard someone attempting to break the locks on the main factory gate around 4 a.m.,” the eyewitness told Hindustan Times.

“Woken up by the commotion, I saw three people loading goods on two cycle-rickshaw sometime later. I dismissed the whole thing thinking they were Chand’s men,” the person said, adding the robbers made no attempt to disguise their identity in any way.

Chand, a resident of Dilshad Colony in East Delhi, alleged a team of professionals was involved.

“They must have had the whole thing planned,” he said.

“They broke in, cleaned my safe and had two rickshaws waiting to flee with more than 50,000 wedding cards which were ready to be printed upon. These people were certainly professionals.”
