As many as 50 flights were delayed for 30 minutes to three hours while ten were diverted to other cities, an airport official said.
The airport authorities enforced the Low Visibility Procedure at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at 7:16 am as the Runway Visibility Range reduced to 600 metres.
A Jet Airways spokesman said at least ten planes of the airline were delayed due to the fog in the morning.
"About 10 flights, departing from Delhi, were delayed while six arriving here were also affected and one flight had to be diverted to Varanasi," the spokesperson said.
Services of other airliners were also affected.
Only 13 flights, including four international services, during the LVP which was lifted after about four hours at 11:08 a.M., the airport official said.
Flight may be affected tomorrow also with the weatherman predicting shallow fog in the morning.
