Girl's body in parcel: Police track a letter

The Delhi and Ajmer police have started fresh investigations into the case of a girl's body found in a tin box parcelled from Delhi, after a letter, with Ajmer Police now, accused five persons for the girl's murder. Rashpal Singh reports.

The sender referred to himself as a resident of Fatehpuri in Delhi. Ajmer Police, on Monday, referred the matter to the Delhi police who began process to locate the sender.

"The letter, received at a media office in Ajmer, mentions names of five persons from Chhattisgarh. It may be a case of revenge where the sender might be trying to harass the persons named in the letter. Fatehpuri is too big and it is not easy to locate the sender," said SHO Madanganj police station, Narendra Singh Meena.

The letter said the accused brought the victim to Delhi on pretext of getting her role in a movie and later blackmailed her. Meena said the Delhi police might send a team to the addresses of the persons named as accused, if the address of the sender was verified.

The Delhi police announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for the victim's identity and of the accused. More than 13 families, including two from Delhi, came to Kishangarh to identify the body. The police cremated the body after two weeks before taking the victim's DNA and viscera.
