The Delhi Police rescued him from Faridabad late Tuesday night, along with his nanny, Seema alias Savita, who had vanished with the toddler after her evening stroll.

"We have arrested four persons, who kidnapped the child on Sunday evening," Delhi Police commissioner BK Gupta said. The four are Annu Ara Begum, 35, Ashok Kiro, 23, Pratima, 21, and Krishandev Kumar, 32.

The gang planned to keep Ishaan for at least a month before making their first ransom call for R2 crore. But they kept a steady supply of nappies, baby powder and Ishaan's favorite biscuits handy.

They first kept the child in southeast Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan before shifting him to Faridabad and dressed him like a baby girl to escape the 15 police teams searching for the child.

On Sunday night itself, the police started looking for Savita's predecessor, Pratima, who was in the Singh household for one month. She went on leave four days before the incident. It was Pratima, a senior police officer said, who hatched the conspiracy and sent in Savita to take her place and kidnap the child.

"We found that Pratima was in a relationship with Kiro and their marriage has been fixed. We nabbed Kiro, who broke down," Gupta said.

Kiro led the police to their rented hideout in Sarai Kale Khan where Ishaan had been kept initially before being shifted to Faridabad on April 25.

Kiro gave Krishnadev’s lead. He led a police team to Faridabad. "The two women involved in the crime were arrested from there".
