Jangpura robbery: Two bullets shot by robbers

The initial investigations into the Jangpura Extension robbery case suggest that the robbers who entered the house of Manvinder Singh, nephew of Jangpura MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah, shot two bullets in the air from a country made pistol before robbing the family off the jewellry and cash worth more than Rs1 crore.

The initial investigations into the Jangpura Extension robbery case suggest that the robbers who entered the house of Manvinder Singh, nephew of Jangpura MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah, shot two bullets in the air from a country made pistol before robbing the family off the jewellry and cash worth more than Rs1 crore.

Around 12 noon on Monday, four robbers, one of them posing as postman made a friendly entry into Singh's house in I block of Jangpura Extension. Singh's wife and domestic help were at home at the time of the incident.

"Initial investigations suggest that someone close to the family must have been involved in the crime. We are on a look out for the robbers and there will be a breakthrough very soon," a senior police officer said, adding, "Several teams have been constituted to solve the case and apprehend the perpetrators."

Singh, who runs a construction business wasn't at home during the time of the incident. Further investigations into the matter are on, police said.
