Raj Kachroo has also accused the University Grants Commission and the human resource development ministry of compromising anti-ragging measures by violating norms, a charge ministry officials strongly denied.

In independent complaints to the Comptroller and Auditor General, Central Vigilance Commission and Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam, Kachroo has accused the UGC and ministry of ignoring cheaper, more effective anti-ragging tools in favour of expensive, impractical measures.

He has also demanded that the Supreme Court-appointed panel under former CBI chief RK Raghavan be reconstituted “with members who are active and interested in the problem of eradication of ragging”.

“This is not about Aman. I am taking this up with the highest authorities in the land to ensure that the Supreme Court’s order against ragging is implemented,” Kachroo said.
