Kakodkar hopes N-deal will get through

The country's top atomic scientist expresses hope the Indo-US civil nuclear deal that has raked up a political controversy in India will get through.

The country's top atomic scientist Anil Kakodkar on Wednesday said he was hopeful that the Indo-US civil nuclear deal will get through.
"I am hopeful," he told reporters outside Parliament when asked whether he felt that the nuclear deal will get through.

The nuclear deal has raked up a political controversy in the country with BJP and Left parties, key allies of the ruling UPA, voicing their strident opposition to the agreement.
