Each district has an ACP to look after entire traffic management of all the circles in a district. Besides, four ACPs are on special responsibilities like looking after traffic management on VIP routes, traffic engineering and road safety. One ACP looks after traffic police headquarter.

Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic), who has issued the order on Monday, said: “This reshuffle has been made to ensure better traffic management across the city.”

He said that within a few days he would issue another transfer order for the traffic inspectors. There will also be a major reshuffle, said sources.

“Traffic management is the worst in Trans Yamuna that needed a major improvement. Both the ACPs in east and northeast districts that fall under Trans Yamuna have been transferred and replaced by two officers with better track record,” said an official.

“There are only two ACPs — Mohan Singh, ACP New Delhi and Anita Roy, ACP Southeast, who have not been transferred,” said Garg.
