Man gets life term for killing friend's wife

A Delhi court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing the wife of a friend after being angry with the latter for the objections raised by him to his frequent eve-teasing.

A Delhi court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing the wife of a friend after being angry with the latter for the objections raised by him to his frequent eve-teasing.

Additional Sessions Judge R K Gauba also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000, besides the life term, on Vijay Pal after holding him guilty of murder, criminal intimidation and house trespass.

According to the prosecution, Pal, who was friendly with Suresh Kumar and his wife, entered the couple's house at Ashok Vihar on the night of October 17-18, 2007 and shot dead victim after her husband objected to the eve-teasing.

The court, in its judgement, relied on the statement of the victim's husband who was an eye-witness to the incident.

The prosecution had examined 15 witnesses to prove its charges in the case.

The court had acquitted two others Satish and Karan for want of evidence.
