Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Customs Department on Saturday intercepted Collins Amwi, a Ghana national with 1,135 grams of heroin. Amwi was leaving for Macao by China Airlines flight number CI - 182. The arrested had been under surveillance on cameras installed in the departure hall of the IGI Airport due to his suspicious movements.

Being questioned, Amwi admitted to carrying capsules of heroin within his body. On medical examination, 89 capsules holding 1,135 grams of heroin were recovered from his body. The narcotics is estimated to be worth 1.13 crore in the international market. Amwi was arrested on Monday under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
