Shella Seth, who works with a Gurgaon-based MNC as associate vice-president, blamed Air India for the mess and filed a complaint with the Delhi Police on Thursday.

“The thieves were so smart that I got to know about the theft only when I opened my bag after reaching home,” Seth said. She was returning from Bangkok by Air India flight on Wednesday.

A case was registered on Thursday. “We are suspecting the involvement of the same gang that steals costly items from registered baggage. In this case too, the lock of the baggage was not broken,” a senior police officer said. Within six months, Air India has reported over 50 incidents of theft from checked-in baggage.
