Though a case has been registered against eight persons in connection with Monday night's firing, in which one person was killed and the sarpanch of the village critically injured, the police are yet to arrest any one in the case.

The local police on Tuesday found the body of a 28-year-old man from a field in Chaprola village, where the sarpanch was critically injured after some persons fired at him.
"The man identified as Rafiq alias Ravi of Aligarh seems to have died in cross firing," Raghvir Singh, SHO Sadar Palwal, said.
"The deceased was part of the gang that fired at the sarpanch," the SHO added.
Police said they found the body after they came to inspect the spot on Tuesday.
"Political rivalry seems to be the motive behind the Monday night incident. One Ram Singh, who had unsuccessfully contested the panchayat election against the injured sarpanch, is the main accused," police officials said.
Bijender Singh, the sarpanch who received bullet injuries in his legs, has been referred to a hospital in Faridabad.
A case has been registered against eight persons including Ram Singh under sections 148/149/307/506 of the Indian Penal Code.
