A small-time property dealer and his two accomplices were sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday by a Delhi court for knifing a youth to death after he objected to them urinating on the road.

The additional sessions judge, Bimla Kumari, sentenced property dealer Jisan and his accomplices Mohd Riazuddin alias Ding Dang and Aslam to life imprisonment for killing 26-year-old Nazim and injuring his companion Shahid. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 35,000 on each of them.
Nazim and Shahid were walking back home in west Delhi on the night of May 20, 2009, when they saw Aslam urinating on the road near an MCD urinal. When Shahid objected, Aslam got furious and left the spot, threatening to teach them a lesson.
Aslam returned in a few minutes with Riazuddin and Jisan and attacked Shahid and Nizam with a knife. Both were taken to hospital, where Nizam succumbed to his injuries.
Agreeing with the prayer of Shahid’s counsel Rashid Hashmi, the court directed that the fine paid by the convicts should be given to Nazim’s family.
