Ganoo, who met a number of senior Indian cabinet ministers and officials during a week-long visit to India, told finance ministry officials that uncertainty over the bilateral double taxation treaty had already led Singapore to become a larger conduit for foreign direct investment into India.

Ganoo said Mauritius was prepared to go “the extra mile” to address Delhi’s tax concerns. He said while China was investing and carrying out construction in Mauritius, but the island would not allow anything that will affect Indian interests.
