Following the good performance of Indian athletes in the Olympics, the North corporation has decided to revamp a basketball stadium at Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh and a lawn tennis court in Kirti Nagar.
Following the good performance of Indian athletes in the Olympics, the North corporation has decided to revamp a basketball stadium at Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh and a lawn tennis court in Kirti Nagar. Both were built decades ago and were in dire need for renovation.

The basket ball stadium, called Master Prithvi Nath Stadium, will be built at a cost of Rs 7 crore and will have the latest facilities in place. The electrical works alone will cost Rs 5 crore. The lawn tennis court will be built at a cost of Rs 5 crore. Both will have changing rooms for sportspersons.
"The basketball court was facing a lot of neglect but we will revamp to encourage sports," said Ravinder Gupta, chairman, works committee.
The South corporation has, meanwhile, decided to build gyms in its community halls.
