Fifteen persons, including six women, were injured after a mini bus they were travelling in, overturns near Kashmere Gate ISBT in north Delhi on Saturday morning.
Police said the incident took place at the traffic light near Chandagi Ram Akhada at around 8.30 am.
“A mini bus carrying over 20 passengers turned turtle after the driver lost control. It was going towards Delhi Gate from Khajoori Khas,” a senior police officer, requesting anonymity said. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot. “He has been identified as Mahesh Kumar and will be arrested,” the officer added.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where a majority of them were discharged after being given first aid.
“One passenger, Mohammed Imran, has suffered critical injuries and is currently recuperating at the hospital,” the officer added. A case of death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Civil Lines police station.
