Rejecting the plea by the couple, accused in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, the court said that the Allahabad High Court might deliver a verdict on July 16 in a petition moved by the couple to seek scientific reports and other documents.

The Talwars had moved the high court against a June 18 order of the trial court which denied them access to documents and allowed only seven of the 13 defence witnesses.

Special Judge S Lal dismissed Talwars’ plea, which was filed on Friday. The couple had sought time for hearing after July 20. But the court pointed out that the Allahabad High Court had stayed the trial proceedings only till July 2. The trial court fixed July 8 as the next date of hearing, when the remaining statements of defence witness Dr RK Sharma is likely to continue.
