This was revealed in reply to a question on the subject in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Of the 206 CCTV cameras, 98 don't work, according to the reply.

"Surveillance through CCTV is a major tool to crack crimes and we got many crimes, including terror activities, bank robberies and snatching cases solved on the basis of footage from CCTV cameras," said Delhi Police spokesperson Rajen Bhagat.

He, however, claimed that almost all cameras in the city were working.
