Woman killed by brother-in-law

A woman was allegedly murdered on Friday by her brother-in-law who felt humiliated after she eloped with her neighbour in Jaffarpur Kalan village of southwest Delhi, the police said.

A woman was allegedly murdered on Friday by her brother-in-law who felt humiliated after she eloped with her neighbour in Jaffarpur Kalan village of southwest Delhi, the police said.

The accused, Jogender, surrendered at the local police station. The woman, Anita Kumari, was married to DTC driver Narender and has two children. "She had eloped in March and was brought back by her brother on Thursday. On Friday, when she was alone at home, Jogender killed her with a sickle," said a police officer.
