The Infosys Science Foundation in association with St. Stephen’s College had hosted Amita Baviskar, associate professor, Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) at the college campus on Monday to deliver a public lecture on “Good to Eat Good to Think: Why we should study India’s changing food cultures”. The aim of this talk was to drive attention on food as a way of understanding social change in India. The lecture is part of the Infosys Science Foundation Lectures by jurors and winners of the Infosys Prize.These lectures are aimed at popularizing science research while driving awareness on the viability of careers in research among the student population. Baviskar was the winner of Infosys Prize 2010 for Social Sciences – Sociology.
