The written examination for recruitment to the post of Primary Teachers ( PRT) and Primary Teachers (Music) for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan ( KVS) was cancelled on Sunday, a day after Hindustan Times reported about a paper leak.

“Yesterday evening it was brought to the notice of KVS that the question paper of PRT exam had been leaked and its soft version was circulating on internet messaging application WhatsApp” a statement from KVS said.

Officials said that KVS is conducting these recruitment exams through its empanelled recruitment agency. The agency had last night told KVS that it may not be possible for them to cross check the allegedly leaked question paper with the actual question paper for the exam of PRT due to various reasons.

“Accordingly, it was decided to hold the examination and to cross check the authenticity of the leaked question paper available on WhatsApp with the actual question paper from one of the examination centres,” officials said.

KVS has outsourced the complete recruitment work including setting, printing and dispatch of question papers to various centres across the country and the opening of the question paper at the time of the examination to the All India Management Association ( AIMA).

The board will soon issue a notification about the next date for the examination. This is the second time that the recruitment examination has been cancelled. Earlier in September, the exam for appointing a librarian was cancelled as candidates who had opted to write exams in Hindi, were given English papers.

Alarmed over the issue, the KV teachers association want the government to take action against the agency. “It clearly shows that the agency is not working well, which is putting the image of KV in bad light. So the government should immediately ban them,” said PV Chhikara, national secretary, KV Pragatisheel Shikshak Sangh.
