A student of FIITJEE, Agarwal scored 97.8% in Class 12 board exams and will represent India at the International Physics Olympiad (IPHo) 2017, which will be held in Indonesia next month.

“Making it to the IIT has been my dream since childhood and I am grateful to FIITJEE for helping me accomplish this dream,” Agarwal, who is also the Delhi topper, said.

FIITJEE said in a statement the second, third and the fourth ranks in Delhi were also secured by their students. Kushagra Juneja with AIR 11 got the second position, Kushal Patil, who has AIR of 14, stood third and Shubham Atri secured the fourth rank with AIR 18.

The coaching institute added other top rankers from FIITJEE’s centres in the Capital were Ansh Khuranna (AIR 39), Shaksham Dhull (AIR 66) and Lakshya Saggi (AIR 78).

“The success of our students at JEE each year bears testimony to the fact that our way of teaching has succeeded in bringing the best in students. We congratulate all our successful students as well as our teachers for their hard effort to make it possible,” he added.

Sarvesh Mehtani from Haryana’s Panchkula secured the AIR 1 in JEE (Advanced) 2017.

At least 1.7 lakh candidates appeared in the JEE (Advanced) - the second of the two-phase exam held in May for over 11,000 seats available in the 23 IITs across the country. The performance of a candidate in JEE (Advanced) forms the basis for admission to the IITs and the Indian School of Mines (ISM) in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad.
