The government is not planning to bring an ordinance to end or change the scheduled of a national common medical test, health minister JP Nadda told ANI on Friday evening.
The comments came after a day of reports that the Union cabinet had cleared a proposal for an ordinance that partially bypassed the Supreme Court-mandated National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and deferred the examination by a year.

“Let me make it clear, #NEET has been implemented and is in existence, first phase is over & 2nd phase will take place on 24th July: JP Nadda,” news agency ANI tweeted.
Over 650,000 candidates took the first phase of NEET on May 1 for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses.
