Aayush, who secured 94.5% marks in aggregate in the CBSE Class-12 exams, wants to do computer science from IIT Bombay.

“At present, I would like to complete IIT. Later, I will try for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) as it offers better opportunities to do something for the society and the nation,” Aayush said.

The topper said he had a simple strategy to deal with the examination. “I paid much attention to subjects in which I was weak and gave extra time to subjects like chemistry for which I thought was less prepared,” he said.

It was his school teachers who inspired him to overcome the weakness in subjects. “This is why, the marks, which were below my expectations, in school examinations did not stop me from toiling hard to achieve the best,” he said.

Son of a businessman Bijay Kumar Agarwal, the teenager said he was confident of a good result but did not expect to become state topper.

His mother Babita Agarwal, a housewife, said, “My son does every work with 100% commitment. This has been his key to success.”

Aayush’s Mathematics teacher at a coaching institute in Jamshedpur, Sourabh Kumar said that he always found out his weakness and worked to convert them into strength. His dedication in classroom helped him to achieve such a result, he added.

Aayush loves to relax by watching cricket on television during his study breaks.
