In January 2019, Mohammad Muzzammil Ahmad (19), a JEE candidate, secured a low percentile of 18.391. In April, he appeared for JEE (main) for the second time and cleared it with a whopping 99.224 percentile to qualify for JEE Advanced, which will be held on May 27 this year.
This is for the first time that the JEE (main) examination has been conducted twice in a year in online mode. For the candidates who appeared in both January and April examinations, the better of the two scores will be taken into account.
“In three months time, Muzzammil achieved what we get to see only in movies or read in stories. From a very disappointing performance in January, he secured an impressive 99.22 percentile,” said his elder brother Najmul Hassan.
Centre head, FIITJEE, Lucknow, NK Dubey said: “He has proved through his performance that anything is possible through professional guidance, proper support system, determination and hard work.”
Out of 6,08,440 candidates who appeared in both the months, 2,97,932 have improved their performance. Lucknow’s Mohammad Muzzammil Ahmad left everyone surprised with remarkable improvement he has shown in three months.

My uncle Mohd Naved, who works in Saudi, funded my education. It is because of his financial support that I could afford school and coaching fee,” said Muzzammil, who loves to play football.

{{/usCountry}}A former student of the Rajendra Nagar branch of the City Montessori School, he passed class 10 (ICSE) with 94% and class 12 (ISC) with 89%.
“I wanted to be a navy officer but my family, especially my uncle, wanted me to become an engineer. I was not very serious in January 2019 examination. But after doing so poorly, my family reminded me that my uncle is bearing all the expenses and his hard-earned money should not go down the drain. Then I worked hard and the result is here for everyone to see,” said Muzzammil.
He is now preparing hard for JEE Advanced.
The first examination was conducted from January 8-12 in two shifts and the second JEE (main) examination was conducted on April 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12.
