NIFT girl gets ‘People’s choice award’ for designing vintage gown

Sherry is the youngest person to win the award this year. A resident of Meerut, Sherry designed a vintage gown that won laurels.

Sherry Khanna, a third year student at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Rae Bareli, has won the ‘People’s choice award’ at the DLF Empirio design competition in New Delhi.

Sherry is the youngest person to win the award this year. A resident of Meerut, Sherry designed a vintage gown that won laurels. Her creation will be displayed for two weeks in a retail shopping outlet at DLF Empirio Exclusive showroom. The fashion design competition was held in New Delhi. There were 20 fashion designers in the Sherry’s category.


Fashion designer, Gaurava Gupta, Ritu Kumar, Vandana and Sunil, were the jury members. They selected Sherry’s design for ‘People’s Choice Award.’ This year’s theme for this category was ‘ black and vintage white’.
