Rohtak medical institute PGIMS gets 71 extra MS, MD seats: State health minister

Chandigarh: Haryana health minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said that 71 seats had been added for MD, MS courses in Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak.

The Centre had approved the additional seats, done to meet the shortage of specialised doctors in the state.

About 26 seats have been increased in MD anesthesiology, nine in MD paediatrics, eight each in MS obstetrics and gynaecology and MD psychiatry, six in MD radio diagnosis, five each in MS orthopaedics and MD ophthalmology and two each in MD dermatology, venereology and leprosy and respiratory medicine.

Earlier, the state government had increased MBBS seats from 100 to 150 in Bhagat Phool Singh government medical college for women, Khanpur Kalan, district Sonepat.

Over 4,000 CCTV cameras to be installed

Vij also said that 4,172 CCTV cameras would be installed in 166 health centres in the state to ensure safety and proper treatment of patients.
