No additional eligibility criteria, such as minimum percentage marks to qualify for certain subjects, will not be applicable in admission to Delhi University this year.
Last year, after the four-year undergraduate programme was scrapped, certain colleges had specified their additional eligibility criteria.
Majority of the admission guidelines for the undergraduate courses have been approved by the vice-chancellor and will soon be announced. Though admission dates are yet to be announced, officials said the admissions will be over by August 14.
Though additional eligibility criteria will not be followed the colleges will be allowed certain relaxations to give advantage to girl students. The relaxation will be capped at 3% and the college will have to inform the office of Dean Students’ Welfare along with the data of the last two years for justifying the norms. The details of the relaxation will also be uploaded on the university website.
This year too, it has been strictly specified that candidates will be allowed to fill only one common pre-admission form, either online or offline.
The admission guidelines also specifies that for courses where admissions are done through entrance test, separate procedures will be followed. Normally admission test is held for English, Hindi journalism, but it was not held last year.
After the declaration of the cut-off, the colleges will have to admit all candidates who have percentages that meet the cut-off. “No first-come first-served policy is permitted,” an official said.
In order to ensure transparency, data of all the candidates who are admitted to colleges must be made available on college website.
“The same will have to be compiled and sent to the university for Information within a week of the last date of admission,” as per the guidelines.
For International boards, whose results are declared late, colleges will have to consider the candidates in whichever cut-off list their results are declared, subject to availability of seats and completion of pre-registration process.

The university will set up special admission assistance teams and a monitoring committee that will visit colleges to help the students and supervise the admission process.
Colleges that are minority institutions such as St.Stephen’s and Jesus and Mary will have separate admission rules.
