The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday released the time table for Civil Services Mains Examination, 2017 (Written) on its official website. The examination will be held from October 28 and will continue until November 3, 2017. The first paper ‘Essay’ will be conducted on October 28 between 9am and 12 noon.

Candidates who have passed the preliminary exam have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Mains) Examination.
The civil services examination is conducted in two successive stages: 1) Preliminary (objective type) for the selection of candidates for the main examination 2) Civil Services (Main) Examination (written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts announced.
Approximately 980 vacancies would be filled through the examination.
