Anubhav Singh who bagged the 8th position in the Civil Services Exam - 2017, results of which were declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday, achieved the impressive rank in his second attempt.

A resident of Daser village of Handia area in Allahabad, Anubhav who is an engineer by training, had secured 683rd rank in 2016 and was selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
However, not satisfied with his performance, Anubhav dropped out of his training and again appeared in the civil services exam last year to get into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). His father Dhananjay Singh is a farmer and his mother Sushma Singh is a clerk in a government school.
“I did my early schooling from the school in my village and later cleared my high school and intermediate from BBS Intermediate College, Shivkuti. In 2015, I completed my B Tech from IIT-Roorkee in civil engineering,” said an ecstatic Anubhav, who is the younger of two siblings.

{{/usCountry}}Anubhav opted for his favourite subject mathematics for the civil services exam. He said that his grandfather Paras Nath Singh was the vice-principal of Sarvajanik Intermediate College, Daser. He credits his success to his parents as well as grandfather who, he says, constantly motivated him to chase his dream.
