Kerala Election: Aruvikkara Assembly Constituency 2022

Aruvikkara is the assembly constituency which comes under the Thiruvananthapuram district. It is one of the 140 Kerala Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Kerala Assembly Election 2021 for Aruvikkara was held on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.

Aruvikkara assembly constituency had 1,88,347 electors in 2016, out of which 88,629 were male voters and 99,718 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.

What happened last time

In 2016, 10 candidates were contesting for Aruvikkara assembly constituency seat. Aruvikkara was one of 22 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). Indian National Congress's K.S. Sabarinadhan won the election by defeating Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Adv. A.A.Rasheed by a margin of 21,314 votes.

The top three candidates split 98.4% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's K.S. Sabarinadhan got a total of 70,910 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Adv. A.A.Rasheed secured 49,596 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Rajasenan grabbed the third spot with 20,294 votes. The top three parties got 49.5%, 34.7% and 14.2% respectively.

In Kerala Assembly election 2011, Indian National Congress's G. Karthikeyen beat Revolutionary Socialist Party's Ambalathara Sreedharan Nair by 10,674 votes.
