Thrikkakara is one of the 140 Kerala Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ernakulam district. People of Thrikkakara voted for Kerala Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.
Thrikkakara assembly constituency had 1,81,025 electors in 2016, out of which 87,666 were male voters and 93,358 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.
In the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Thrikkakara constituency. Thrikkakara was one of 22 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). Indian National Congress's Adv.P T Thomas won the election upstaging Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Dr.Sebastian Paul by a margin of 11,996 votes.
98.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Adv.P T Thomas grabbed a total of 61,451 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Dr.Sebastian Paul got 49,455 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate S Saji bagged 21,247 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.8%, 36.9% and 15.9% respectively.
In Kerala Assembly election 2011, Indian National Congress's Benny Behanan outperformed Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s M.E. Hassainar by 22,406 votes.
