West Bengal Election: Pandua Assembly Constituency 2022

Pandua is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Hugli district. People of Pandua voted for West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 on April 10 and the result was declared on May 2.

In West Bengal Assembly Election 2016, there were 2,44,144 registered voters for Pandua assembly seat, out of which 1,23,515 were male and 1,20,627 were female voters. 1.1% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election, there were 7 candidates in the fray from Pandua constituency. Pandua was one of 26 seats won by the All India Trinamool Congress. It was a close contest with Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Sk. Amjad Hossain winning the election upstaging All India Trinamool Congress's Saiyad Rahim Nabi by a margin of just 3,869 votes.

89.0% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Sk. Amjad Hossain got a total of 93,966 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Saiyad Rahim Nabi got 90,097 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Ashok Bhattacharya grabbed 17,081 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 45.5%, 43.6% and 8.3% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Amjad Hossain Sk. outperformed All India Trinamool Congress's Nargis Begum by 397 votes.
