How clean Delhi will be in the future is difficult to say, but it’s definitely turning greener. Don’t believe us? Head to The Delhi Tourism Annual Flower Show (DTAFS), that begins at the Garden of Five Senses today.
“More than 300 to 400 varieties of plants will be exhibited at the show. These species are a result of a variety of horticulture disciplines,” says Sanjay Dham, a bonsai artist who’ll be displaying more than 32 varieties of bonsai (a tree in a pot).
Syama Balbir, Secretary of Bonsai Association of India, and a judge at the DTAFS, says, “I was a participant at the show in 1990. It’s a great opportunity for flower lovers to visit such shows. The sale of plants is increasing with each passing year.”
Dham feels plants are a great way to de-stress and moreover, they help create fresh oxygen, thus helping the environment. “I have been spreading the bonsai culture in and around Delhi as much as I can, specially among youth. Indulging in nature helps us rejuvenate ourselves,” says Dham.
