American R&B singer, rapper and songwriter Akon will pay a one-day visit to Mumbai on December 7. The next day, he will be heading off to Pune for the birthday celebrations of one of the promoters of Vekateshwara Hatcheries or Venky’s.
Confirms a source associated with the organisers, “Akon will be in Mumbai for a day. The next day he will move to Pune for a daylong birthday celebration of one of the owners of Venky’s.” It’s not sure if Akon will perform for any private shows in Mumbai or Pune. Our source refuses to divulge any more details about the visit.
“Right now, Akon’s visit is very confidential. He’s coming here on a private visit and we don’t want any discomfort to the star because of mass media coverage,” adds the source. “No performances by Akon have been decided on at the moment. We will be working out the details in the coming days.”
Akon last visited India in March and had played to a select audience at Bandra’s Taj Lands End. He and Shah Rukh Khan had also danced to the hit Sexy bitch.
