“It was fascinating to see the marine varieties and get a different perspective of life on earth. The underwater life is amazing. Once you dive in, you realise how beautifully nature operates at all levels. I saw corals that looked like giant mushrooms and goby fish hiding in the sand, sea urchins and giant sooi keong. It was marvellous, seeing them so up close,” he raves.

At the sets near the beach, the Pakistani actor-musician says the sea “beckoned” him. “I had lots of fun scuba diving with my friends including Divyendu (Sharma, actor) who is also in the film. We trained for 40 minutes before diving. The instructor taught us how to swim underwater and gave us loads of instructions.”

In any case, the Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011) actor is a fan of water sports. “I enjoyed para-sailing and have done it many times. I also had a blast doing the water tube ride in which you hold on to a tube strung behind a speedboat. It’s exhilarating.”

What’s more, in the past, he has also an attempted a 160-foot free fall jump. And though he hasn’t bungee jumped yet, he adds, “I have done a pendulum ride which is almost like bungee. I have also sat on the world’s second longest roller coaster in Liverpool.”

The adventure seeker is only apprehensive of skydiving, a sport he isn’t inclined to try out. “Today it’s a no-no, but you never know about the future,” he adds.
