For Arjun Rampal, the thought of Delhi University (DU) inevitably takes him back to his college days and makes him nostalgic. Rampal is an alumnus of Hindu College in North campus. Reminiscing the good ol’ days in DU, the former model and now actor says, “It was a beautiful time. We used to hangout at Hindu college canteen and the chole bhature served there used to be awesome. Apart from that, the Stephen’s cafe with their egg cutlets and toasts were also something we couldn’t have enough of.”

College equals masti
The actor also recollects spending most of his time roaming around the North Campus area.“We were a big group of friends. We used to roam around in DU’s North Campus a lot, and our usual places used to be the college canteens. Apart from that, we used to hang out around Miranda House college a lot (laughs), not why you are thinking, but we had friends there too,” says the 39-year-old, adding, “Also, we used to watch a major chunk of movies at Chanakya theatre at Chankyapuri. Then, when PVR in Saket opened, that became our second destination to watch movies.”

Not much has changed
The actor, who was recently in the Capital for the promotion of his just released flick, Chakravyuh, feels that barring infrastructure modifications, nothing much has changed in the Campus. “It’s still the same. The energy amongst the youth is still the same as it was back in our days. Yes, they have put cages and barricades around the hostel which is a bit disappointing. It takes away freedom, but as I said, the energy and enthusiasm of the students here is above these restrictions.
