How goes it with you, my hot cross buns? I’ve got the blues and Vijjy, my silver-bearded beau, is not helping matters. He’s pretending to be James Bond and is going rat-tat-tat with an imaginary gun. What’s more, the silly billy wants me to pose as a bikini babe. Get a life!
To get away from Vijjy’s childish games, no doubt prompted by a show of Prince that he caught over the weekend, I call up Manoj Bajpai for an update on the desh ki raajneeti and guess what? I’m greeted with ‘Hello Mr Bond…’ and the trademark Bond music. Don’t tell me he saw Prince too and now imagines himself to be the next desi Bond.
Turns out he hasn’t signed up for the Prince sequel yet but he is a fan of the super spy. Who isn’t, he argues hotly, and goes on to tell me that his fave Bond is Sean Connery. What’s new Mr Bajpai, or should that be Bond, James Bond?
