Hrithik Roshan came face-to-face with his wax figure at Madame Tussauds, London. The star worked closely with the team from the museum to ensure that the pose was spot on. He is portrayed in a short sleeved shirt left wide open to reveal his toned body.

On first meeting with his double, Hrithik Roshan said, "It’s incredible just how detailed the figure is — they’ve really captured my look. I’m truly honoured to be included and hope my fans like seeing the figure".

The star is the youngest male actor from India to be honoured by Madame Tussauds. Roshan attended two sittings in Mumbai and London where sculptors captured a catalogue of reference photographs and took hundreds of precise measurements.

He also donated the red shirt and dark blue jeans his figure is wearing to the museum. The figure took four months in the making and cost the museum £150,000 (Rs.10.89 million).

It joins Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in the special Bollywood area. To coincide with the launch of Hrithik’s new figure the area has been given an update with an all new interactive touch screen where guests can watch their favourite dances by Bollywood icons.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan was the first Bollywood celebrity to get waxed at Madame Tussauds, London in 2000. Bachchan was chosen, following a poll to find the most famous and popular Bollywood actor who has done close to 170 films. His look was based on Karan Johar's hit film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. His statue is clothed in a black bandgala achkan, accessorised with a shawl.

Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's wax statue was unveiled in September 2004 at the museum. Ash was then shooting for Gurinder Chaddah's movie Bride and Prejudice and hence the statue's look was based on her look in the film - a pink patiala salwar and kurti. Post-marriage, another statue of the actor was unveiled at the Times Square museum in New York in 2007. This statue has a bridal get up - it is dressed in a red and gold sari and dons a mangalsutra.

Actor Salman Khan got waxed by Tussauds in 2008. Dressed in a black vest, the statue has six-pack abs and bulging biceps just like the actor. Salman donated a set of clothes and a bracelet for his wax model. The actor beat nine other Indian mega stars, including Madhuri Dixit and Lata Mangeshkar, to win a place at the museum after a public poll was conducted.
